Marion Wilner
As an artist I have always been fascinated by the richness of the human mind as it probes the secrets of nature. My work has been committed to the figure, to classical and cultural heritage as well as familiar and remembered landscapes. Mythological themes and biblical references are often incorporated in my image making.
My current work focuses on the intersection of art and science. What caused the universe to come into being? How did reality and time emerge out of nothing? We long to be part of the infinite as we search for systems and patterns.
I enjoy exploring new methods and materials to create meaning. Watercolor and ink speak to spontaneity while the white line woodcuts are labor intensive. A passion for drawing maintains my dialogue with the visible and invisible world.
